It’d be pretty funny if they found Polysorbate 80 and Yellow Dye No. 5 in it.

“How would one recognize 50,000 year-old poop?”

By taste.

Then how do we see light from galaxies over 10 billion light years away? That means it took 10 billion years plus for that light to get here. Impossible if earth is only 6000 years old.

All you have to do is walk out in your front yard at night, you can see light from individual stars over 1 million light years away without even binoculars. Again, impossible if earth is only 6000 years old. Everything else was supposedly created at the same time, so everything else would only be 6000 years old. Impossible, and you can see proof in the sky any clear night. Just look up.

That idea was dreamed up by some religious scholar with too much time on his hands. Read your Bible. This guy named Methusla lived 1000 years. It also says in those days men lived that long. 5 or 6 generations of that and your 6000 years is blown to smithereens. And it does not say how many generations of men lived around 1000 years. I think 2 or 3 others are also named it’s been a long time since I read it.

Adam and Eve lived “for a time” if I remember it correctly, as immortals. Unaware of their immortality I think is how it was put. So how long was that, in addition to the original 7 day creation story? 1,000 years? 10,000? 100,000? We don’t know, but we’re talking immortals here, they could have lived a million years as immortals, or a week. It simply doesn’t say.

And remember also, it says a day to God is as 1000 years to a man. Oops, 7000 years, there goes your theory before Adam and Eve ever even get off to a good start.

Just the stars visible at night blow your 6000 year idea out the window. You can easily see light that took a million years to get here. It goes right there with the idea biden actually won the election, and al gore invented the internet. Oh yeah, and Trump supporters started the riot at the capitol and george floyd was killed by a cop.

People in 1900 had more biodiversity in their guts than people in the USA do now, but the life expectancy at birth in the US in 1900 was about 47 years (vs. close to 80 nowadays). People may be dying in greater numbers from some ailments than in the past, but they are dying in their 60s or 70s when in the old days they probably would have died long before reaching 60.

"... I do wonder how (after 50000 years) fecal matter could remain preserved and identifiable as such."

Even desiccated into the hard lumps known as "coprolites", human stools tend to maintain a certain "character".

~~~~~~~~~~~
My archæological colleagues at Texas A&M had an analytical lab where they used a TSP (TriSodium Phosphate) solution to "re-constitute" human coprolites found near the back walls of occupied rockshelters along the Pecos & Rio Grande rivers.
Their professional paper presentations on prehistoric diet, etc. always referred to the "odoriferous ambiance" of that particular lab... '-)
"No way. Too many volatile compounds that would have outgassed over the centuries. 50,000 year old droppings would be totally inert and recognized only by visual inspection. Change my mind.
Bullcoprolite!
You forget that the oldest coprolite samples were buried under meters of similar deposits.
See my #38...
Hm, well I stand duly corrected and pretty surprised that they would remain, eh, aromatic to some degree after all that time.
