The confederacy fought against freedom for blacks, so the monuments should go. We can understand why the Russians removed monuments to their enslavers, Stalin and Lenin, after they got free from communism. So we can understand why blacks want to remove monuments to THEIR enslavers.
The problem with your reasoning is that the Maoists won’t stop at Stone Mountain, just as removing Confederate flags didn’t satisfy them, this won’t either and I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit back and watch monuments to American history be torn down because it hurts someone’s feelings.
Not sure about the “we” part. How come the dang democrap party remains unsoiled re slavery? The south was democrap, solidified the KKK and the home of ol George Wallace, S Thurmond and on and on. Why not take that institution down rather than the ones that I never found honored slavery, but rather the courage and military prowess of individuals?
