Those election results were razor thin again. I knew, before, in the run up to the the Senate elections that we were likely to lose both. There was too large a contingent of dumbasses here on Free Republic who were arguing in favor of letting the Democrats win out of spite. I could see it in the general population of conservatives as well. No doubt a large enough section of Georgia conservatives decided to stomp their feet, act like babies & sit out the election for two easily winnable seats because throwing a tantrum was more important than anything else. You dumbasses lost those seats. Nobody stole them from us. You argued in favor of boycotting & convinced enough fellow dumbasses to do the same & we lost two seats. Now Chuckle Schumer is majority leader & we will likely get the worst massive amnesty bill ever proposed (which all Senate Republicans- even Rubio, Graham, Collins are opposing because of how extreme it is) passed on a party line vote through the reconciliation process or a filibusterless Senate. What the hell is the point of being in a conservative political coalition with kamikaze types? I love President Trump- but ultimately it wasn’t him we were fighting for- it was us & our values & ideas & philosophy!! No one should have sat out any election for any reason. You don’t willingly hand your adversaries the keys to power. If you do, there’s NO difference between y’all & RINOS 😡

How many registered voters in Georgia are frequent visitors of Free Republic?

How many of those who voted in the general but did not vote runoff are registered Republicans?

How many voters only cared about Trump?

Are most voters driven to turn out by a candidate who they are eager to vote for?

If yes, how come they did not turn out?

If no, why do you think playing defense would drive these people to the polls when:

Republicans were the last Party to legislate amnesty

Do nothing at all to the cure the disease (Entitlement programs/spending/desire for cheap labor) that causes the symptoms (Illegal immigration/losing elections over the candidate promising more free gibs/indifference/milquetoast tendencies in order to not rock the boat/perpetual grafting, etc...)

Gave us the NSA/EPA/OSHA/TSA/Patriot Act/and other authoritarian programs as well as expanded (Non-defense) federal agencies (Reagan added over 200,000 during his tenure).

Constantly drive up deficits/debt

Does not care about fiscal restraint

Could not organize a Chinese fire drill because the Party is operated by Statists with a good size chunk of the base caring more about limited government ('The Big Tent' "vision" is a house divided hindrance that offers very little long-term progress, dems don't have this problem)

In fact when dems have slim majorities in Congress (Both bodies) and the presidency, they actually implement what they promise on a permanent basis, why is that? They are focused and 'Dare to Win'/no crisis gone to waste. Republicans just talk and curl up in the fetal position unless their actions involve fiscal insanity or expansion of the Federal government (Gee, it's like a trend, which should give you a clue on what is more important to the leaders and their bigest donors).

Why do you think chasing the lessor of two evils is a noble cause?

Maybe people are starting to break out of their insanity and would only commit to candidates worth voting for.
