President Biden's recently appointed climate czar, John Kerry, took a private jet to Iceland in 2019 to receive the Arctic Circle award for climate leadership, Fox News has learned.
Kerry defended his high-pollution ride at the time, calling it "the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle" in an interview obtained by Fox News. The incident had not been previously reported in the American press.

Icelandic reporter Jóhann Bjarni Kolbeinsson confronted Kerry at the event over his choice of transportation, asking: "I understand that you came here with a private jet. Is that an environmental way to travel?"
Kerry responded by claiming that it was the only way. "If you offset your carbon -- it's the only choice for somebody like me who is traveling the world to win this battle," Kerry said.
"I negotiated the Paris Accords for the United States," he added, referring to the multilateral climate agreement signed while he was secretary of state under President Obama.
"I've been involved with this fight for years. I negotiated with [Chinese] President Xi to bring President Xi to the table so we could get Paris. And, I believe, the time it takes me to get somewhere, I can't sail across the ocean. I have to fly, meet with people and get things done," Kerry said, sidestepping the fact that he chose a private jet over a commercial flight.
"But, what I'm doing, almost full time," he continued, "is working to win the battle on climate change, and in the end, if I offset and contribute my life to do this, I'm not going to be put on the defensive."

What does a self-gratifying flight just to accept an award have to do with “saving” the environment? It’s just pure narcissism. Did they include a monetary award too?
He “negotiated” with the Chinese president Xi- who has thousands of people locked up in work camps- to give the Chinese exactly what they want at our expense, not at the Chinese’ expense, and he wants us to believe he was the dominant one in the negotiations?

Actually that isn't why he did that, though it is emotionally satisfying to think he is a buffoon. The Antarctica trip was cover for his trip to New Zealand to get their cooperation in a vote at the UN condemning Israel that December, part of the divestment movement against Israel over settlements. [His trip to Iceland to get the meaningless award may have been cover for something too, and not merely the ego trip it is meant to appear.] Anyway, while he was talking to NZ officials about getting their vote for the move in the UN, his buddy Brennan was in Washington meeting with Palestinian officials including a terrorist or two on the same topic.
Lurch the magnificent strikes again.
What a freak show.
I don’t mean to pick on Kerry, but there really is a pack of people that consider themselves above the common class, and they support each other and they keep secrets.

It just so happens that to get where Kerry was going in Antarctica you have to stop off in NZ to make arrangements, so the eco-ego trip was the perfect cover for what he was up to at the UN.

this horrible POS has been on the scene for FIFTY YEARS... i cannot overstate how corrupt this traitor is.
John F’ing Kerry is all that is wrong with our government personified.
In Kerry’s mind this is the only ‘battle’ that matters and he’s the most important person to fight it.
Not that he’s an ego-maniacal nutcase or anything...
The Trump team during the transition had convinced Egypt to withdraw the resolution condemning Israel and this blew up the Obams admin’s plans [and Kerry’s on a Palestinian deal] ... so Kerry was doing all these last minute flights to counter the incoming Trump foreign policy. This movement against Israel to satisfy the European divestment movement was going to be a key part of the Dem’s foreign policy had they defeated Trump.
This is why they were so hot to keep spying on Trump and why they went after Mike Flynn- he was in part responsible for foiling Ben Rhodes/Obama/Kerry in this matter. Samantha Power was the one who abstained at the UN rather than vote down the bad resolution and tick off the palestinians that have been such an important part of the Democratic Party base since 2009.
Calling Kerry horseface is a misnomer, it should be two faced.
