Yeah, but see, what they’ll do is rely on neighbours, family members, etc. to check the database, see that someone hasn’t registered, and then report them, and *then* they’ll get the door kicked in.
We’ve already seen that there are plenty of snitches out there more than willing to “punish” even family members for having the wrong politics. No reason to think they won’t narc on their racist, gun owning uncle who doesn’t believe in transgenderism or whatever.

Check what database? Where does it say nongun owners have to register as not having guns? Unless you register your guns & yourself, you’re invisible. Unenforceable.
The tactic of SWATing a neighbor with a false report to police has been around for a while.
If widespread gun-snitching does happen, the result will be anarchy complete with revenge killings.
