Bill in Congress would require Americans take psych test, get liability insurance, register guns and more to own them
Law Enforcement Today ^ | January 31, 2021 | Pat Drowney

The law, HR 127, if passed and signed into law would, under §932 establish licensing of firearms and ammunition, as well as registration of firearms. This section would require the owner of a firearm to transmit to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under section (b)(1):

(A) the make, model, and serial number of the firearm, the identity of the owner of the firearm, the date the firearm was acquired by the owner, and where the firearm is or will be stored; and

(B) a notice specifying the identity of any person to whom, and any period of time during which, the firearm will be loaned to the person.

The above information would be required within three months of the effective date of the bill for firearms already owned by that date, and on the date an owner acquires a firearm for any weapons acquired after the effective date.

(snip)

Here’s the kicker about the above section. Read this carefully:

“The Attorney General shall make the contents of the database accessible to all members of the public [emphasis added], all Federal, State and local law enforcement authorities, all branches of the United States Armed Forces [emphasis added], and all State and local governments, as defined by the Bureau.”

So think about this for a minute. This law would publicize who owns guns, and where they store them. What a windfall for potential criminals…the ability to know who keeps guns in their homes (and by extension who does NOT) and where the guns are stored.

This is like putting a scarlet letter out there for where criminals can acquire guns. Or, where they don’t need to be worried about encountering an armed homeowner.

Secondly, why would the military need to know who has arms? For what purpose?

The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.....”

Infringed:

“...act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on.”

They aren’t planning to pass this bill. They are planning for it to compete with a “moderate” alternative that only looks good next to this radical bill, but gets the collectivists much further down the road because it will attract the support of “relieved” RINOs.

SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

Seems really clear and simple to me.

The biggest problem is the Constitution left out ammo in the same category of guns.

Keep and bear arms also does not include purchase thereof.

They’ll probably start by compiling the records for things like returned 4473 forms and NICS inquiries, and cross reference those with their database to find out who isn’t on it but probably “should” be.

Of course, any time you may have to use your gun in a self-defense situation, it’ll be standard for police to check registration status of the gun used. So either don’t use it and die, or do use it and go to jail.

And again, I’m sure they’ll be open to any and all tips from “concerned citizens.” Uncle Cid has a gun and I’m pretty sure he didn’t register it or go through the psych evaluation, might want to check him out, and all that. When I say “checking the database,” it’d be to confirm someone *isn’t* on it that they think should be.

Etc. etc.

"...compiling the records..."

My sense is things will be VERY quiet with little need for raids.

President Harris will pursue "low-hanging fruit" by accosting legal gunowners with recent FFL paperwork likely still in possession of firearms just purchased.
They will next ask law-abiding people to turn-in existing firearms for below-market absurd "buyback" prices that nobody wants.

Those not complying will soon have a felony arrest warrant hanging over them. Authorities can connect DMV records.
Modern police cruisers can scan plates of cars without officer even engaging the in-car laptop.

Those drivers will be immediately flagged to be pulled-over.
Good luck driving across town to peacefully get groceries!

Big GovernmentTM will subsequently use stronger coercion like: They have the full knowledge 90% of people (or more) will ultimately crack.
People will be enticed with $1000 "good citizen bonus" payments to turn-in gunowner family/friends. Few shots will be fired.

They will think of more draconian techniques for the tougher cases.
That is my initial prediction on how they will roll. This won't be pretty.

Dear dumb Legislators.

First of all, I have some perfectly legal firearms that do not have serial numbers. Yes, 22’s of a certain vintage didn't have serial numbers. Also 80% receivers turned by the builder into a personal firearm also don't have serial numbers.

Secondly, if I am required to take a physiology test to own a firearm, I will start a State Initiative to have all politicians both take a physiology test and publish it for public review.

I would pray that the Supreme Court would deep six such a law.

You put your faith in the Supreme Court when the Supreme Court would not even look at the evidence of a stolen election that was so plain that Stevie Wonder could see it. The Supreme Court does what the Globalists tell it to. How much political influence do you have to start a Movement? And they are not dumb Legislators. It was the voters that were dumb in electing them. If you think that any politician gives a hoot about the voters think after they are elected, you are living in a fool’s paradise.

You see what they are doing. All Trump supporters will be targets as part of the “dangerous MAGA movement” and our social media accounts will be monitored. Any positive comments for Donald Trump will be deemed mental illness.

Boy, what a way to start the day! But anyway:

These plans will require the complete & utter connivance of every LEO in the country from the Veep down to Officer Friendly, bottom line. No dissent, no cracks in the wall, nothing. Not to mention every bank, utility, etc.

Every friend or relative becomes suspect. No one will trust anybody. It will come down to,

“Sorry, pal, it’s either you or my pension. Get down!”

Convince an armed man that he has nothing left to lose, and there will be anarchy. The seamless machine of confiscation is not what it appears to be. You don’t create East Germany out of America without bloody insurrection in between.

Three percent of American colonists chose to fight the British. Revolution followed.

There are fifty states, some blue, most red. Are they all going to march in lockstep with the Ho?

And is every last cog in the chain of confiscation ready, willing, and able to kiss his family goodbye every single morning he heads out to violate people’s God given rights?

The ointment in the fly of every plan to impose socialism (that’s what this is) is the failure of its cadres to recognize that human nature never changes. There is no self-sacrificing New Soviet Man out there still waiting to be born.

Proof? Point out the despotism in Cuba, Venezuela, USSR & ChiCom PRC and you will get angry shouts of “true socialism hasn’t been tried yet!!!”

There are going to be 2A rallies in the states like no one’s ever seen. Remember Virginia? And did Coonman Blackface Northam address the crowd with,

“You’re ALL under arrest!!”

Anyway, Congressthings who dare advance this fascistic bill are guaranteeing themselves unemployment in 2022. Try putting “people shouldn’t be allowed to own guns!!” in your platform.

I actually agree. However, this will require conservatives to walk the walk instead of just talking the talk.

Are we ready and willing to:

Engage in mass civil disobedience?

Organise militias and neighbourhood watch orgs that specifically deal with incursions by federal agents?

Become unpoliceable by fighting back (not just meant metaphorically) in large enough numbers that the opportunity cost becomes too great for them?

Pressure red politicians at the local and state level to pursue nullification all the way up to actual secession?

Engage in whatever activity is necessary to monkey wrench the current regime and its agents?

Because if not, then might as well just go ahead and turn them in, live in the pod, and eat the bugs.

This won’t be pretty.
_____________________________________________________________

Assume 75 million owners and 90% comply, if 10% are tougher cases then it appears 7.5 million “problems” to roll on.
If it’s only 3% VERY TOUGH cases of 75 million then they wind up having to deal with 2.25 million “problems”.
Agree, this won’t be pretty.

"...problems..."

My concern is they have lots of time and endless money to throw around.
They can convince low-information Americans they could provide an extra $1000/month stimulus were it not for "expensive gun crime" in the nation.

Hopefully our country can pull ourselves together for a few years until 2024 blessedly arrives.
Slow Joe will crater the economy. He will be able to twist the screws pretty tight to smoke-out many 3%er's.

You have totally struck on something. At this point people still have full bellies, the WiFi still works in the house, fuel can still be purchased, and no JBTs have smashed through the windows just yet.

President Harris and her assistant Slow Joe are hurting this nation on an hourly basis. Curious to see how things hold up in 4-6 months when all the absurd campaign promises have failed, flopped, and in the dustbin of history. That might drive Conservatives to show more solidarity much like our leftwinger foes effortlessly muster. We shall see.
