Trump needs to stay clear of this. To take part in this charade would only give it credence. It’s clearly unconstitutional, and his participation wont change a single vote on one side or the other. He’ll never get the option to argue election interference, and an easy argument can be made on the one side that it is not pertinent to the case at hand.

The table for the defense at this circus should be empty. If, by some strange occurrence he is convicted, he then should proceed through the courts and argue its Constitutionality.

Agreed. I think the best of Trump, but historically he has had a problem staying clear of this type thing. Maybe he’s learning, still.
