“Why is there even a congress or senate?”
Now that is a good question. For many years the US has been trending in the direction of the president having too much power. Congress doesn’t care as long as they keep getting rich and have great benefits and retirement.
Congress serves two purposes:
▶ Obedient cheerleading squad amd rubber stamp if POTUS is a Demonrat. Especially if an illegitimate communist puppet.
▶ Obstructionist hecklers and organized outrage committee if POTUS is a Republican. Especially if a populist with a pro-America agenda who actually gets things done.
