House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy met with former President Trump at Mar-a-lago Thursday where the two agreed to work together on Republicans taking back the House in 2022.
McCarthy, who once said Trump "bears responsibility" for the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot, reunited with Trump in Florida for a "very good and cordial" meeting where McCarthy welcomed Trump's support in promoting GOP House candidates in the next election, according to a readout from Trump's team.

Trump sure is a lot smarter than some people who ‘claim’ to follow him.
To be fair to them, I’ve said the same things they are now,
but after witnessing the last four years, and what the RP
failed to do with their best chance in 70 years, I can’t
stomach the party any longer.
This is one battered wife that is getting a divorce and
taking everything I can take with me to a new party.
So it’s your opinion too, that all we need to do is change

Care to think about how many presidential election cycles
we have been saying that same thing? Ever since 1960,
that’s been the claim. This time we’re going to be smarter,
work harder, and finally get it done.

Establishment Republicans are perfectly happy with being in the minority.
in the minority they can whine, yap to the press about how they would handle things and they can generally avoid any responsibility should policies go wrong.
Out of power, on the back bench, is where most of them are the most comfortable.
Their favorite publication, National Review, fully supports this.

Alright, I regret using Trump as an “appeal to authority”.
But if he thinks we can win a House Majority, well by golly I’m in.

He just spent four years as the President of the United States
within that party.
How did that work out for him?
They sat on their hands for his first two years, when we had
the majority of both chambers in Congress. Did they make a
lot of moves to strengthen the Republic? For instance, did
they even fund the wall?
Did they defund NPR or PBS?
Did they defund Planned Parenthood all the way?
Even the simplest of things, they couldn’t be bothered.
So, NO!
Did these same people support him when all the election
fraud was being revealed?
Crickets.
They let him drift in a vast pond of Leftist propaganda,
not lifting a single finger to help. They didn’t voice
support or agree publicly that there was ANY trouble
at all. They let the media portray him as a whack job
out of control. They just sat there and laughed. It
served their purposes. They DID NOT want him any more
than the Democrats did. You know that’s true.
Okay lets look at what is going on now. Last week
Mitch McConnell said he wasn’t sure if he’d vote to
acquit or convict Trump at the Impeachment trial.
I’d say things are pretty darned clear just how much
support Trump will get.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 16 more times,
and not just shame on me, get me to a hospital psych
ward.
