At first I wanted to say “garbage in, garbage out”. But that doesn’t capture the true nature of the scam.

Better to say “deliberately misleading data in, deliberately misleading conclusions out.” That sums it all up...but it’s not very catchy.

The Maldives, the true canary in the climate coal mine, miraculously seem to be above water.

My measuring stick is Liberty Island in New York. It’s perfect because we have photos from the late 1800s forward to today. Also, the island sits only a few feet above the water. And to my eye since the 1800s the water level there hasn’t budged one inch. It certainly hasn’t changed enough to be visible.

Another canary is the Broomway, a path in England that is dangerous because it gets covered by high tide twice a day. It’s been in use for something like 700 years. So sea-level hasn’t apparently changed all that much. Here’s a YouTube of a guy walking it:
