He needn’t worry about campaign issues
He got 68% in part because he assured Democrats that he would not appoint a Republican to replace Sanders. And perhaps he wants to run for the Senate someday, which is a harder row to hoe for a Republican in VT. I don’t think that Scott got to where he is by ignoring potential campaign issues, and he’s not going to start if and when he has to fill a U.S. Senate vacancy.
