Michael Douglas is a paid actor. This looks like a propaganda piece calling for middle-of-the-road political unity. No thanks.
The problem is that liberals are wedded to the idea of powerful state and federal governments so they can do good. There is unity with this, because that means the end of the United States.
If liberals won’t give this idea up, what is there to talk about?
He may be paid, but it seems this is something he also believes in. Nobody wants the United States to die, except the hard communists, but how can we convince liberals that they can have their society that is also compatible with the United States Constitution.
There is nothing stopping a liberal from setting up charities and private organizations that work for their purposes, without destroying the Constitution.
Liberals think that Trump failed because he didn’t enact martial law to put FEMA in every state. I told them that enacting martial law means troops in the states to shoot people and they’re all like, “We only need to do FEMA.”
No unity, I mean.
Another non-essential employee that knows everything. His bosses give him a costume to wear, tell him where to stand, tell him what to say and how to say it. You want change? Then run for office and make the changes instead of just whining about stuff.
1) Vote from home?.....No thanks.
2) Independent commissions for district line drawing?....There is no such thing as and “independent commission”.
3) The country is divided into progressive, conservative, and independent?....Nope! It progressive, conservative, and brain dead.
I stopped there.

Always grateful for the posts, but I prefer the OP’s synopsis to voyaging for a few reasons:
- generally, the OP’s summaries are good enough
- the external material seems to take 10x as long
- and I prefer not to leave trails for the low-level grunts
Sad when folks like him represent the center of mass.
I’m leary of this group. Most names are those we’ve never heard of but the actors/actresses are mostly Democrats or a few fruitcakes. Funding, so, so. Rockefeller Foundation - never to be trustee any more.
The concepts of this “unity” about electing congresspeople is nice on paper, and some of their points about the corruptive aspects of present day elections are correct, but I feel there is something else to this group. While I applaud their stances on reforming the election maps/districts re gerrymandering and for independent election commissions to work on it (in Va. that idea, a conservative one, won over the Democrat/Left machine), some others need much more exploring in depth.
Michael Douglas’s father, actor Kirk Douglas, was proud of his breaking the so-called “blacklist” on Hollywood communists and sympathizers (the blacklist was not a govt thing, more like an industry agreement to rid themselves of the old Soviet supporting Communist Party USA members and sympathizers who tried to take over Hollywood by controlling both the Screen Actors Guild and the Screen Writers Guild in the 30’s and 40’s.
Michael Douglas is a liberal but I don’t know far to the left he is on many issues. he might even be somewhat libertarian.
I’ll leave it up to other readers to make up their own minds.
In this day and age, everybody has a “group” but not every group is whom they proclaim to be. That is the danger. We need to know much more about any group that wants to be an “uniter”. The Democrats/Leftists are for anything but “unity” of non-Marxist citizens.
“Trust but verify”. I say, “Do your research in a serious manner and then try to come to a decision”.
No he’s not. You can’t tell liberals anything, because they never believe that liberalism is what brings on dictatorships.

And BTW, those polls that say that there are a lot of “undecideds” are ridiculous.
If election day is a couple of weeks away and you are STILL “undecided, you are a complete idiot.
