Maybe I should explain for those who have no idea what we’re talking about.

“The Aristocrats” is a “joke” that comedians often tell while auditioning.

The premise of the “joke” is this.

Guy goes to an agent and tells him, “Boy do I have an act for you!”

The agent asks him, “Tell me something about this act.”

Then the guy usually starts out with, “It’s a family act!”...and then for about two minutes proceeds to describe the most disgusting things that come to mind.

Well after that, all the agent can say is, “Well, what’s the name of this act?”......and the guy responds with, usually snapping his fingers...”The Aristocrats!”

Actually, It’s more than that.

It was an exercise, a test conceived by Penn Jellet to explore the limits of censorship.

A clean discussion of the “Joke”
