Any picture taken by a smartphone is tagged with the date, time, and latitude/longitude coordinates where the picture was taken. If you share that in social media, that meta data is most likely sent along with the picture.
There are settings on your phone to turn this off. Highly recommend you look at your settings. There are also websites that check your images for metadata.

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking if you got pics and videos of yourself running around in the US House and Senate chambers and offices, the authorities might have some idea where you were.

I wouldn’t bet a plug nickel that you have any control.
Linux gave us “Free” software so that it could be the OS used on fully-locked software platforms that spy on their “owners”.
It’s for “security”, you know.
