As I noted on another thread, I wonder what all the FReepers who have "left" the Republican Party will do in 2024 if Trump runs for POTUS again as a Republican? I'm sure they will avoid voting for him in GOP primaries out of "principle", right?

And how exactly does one "leave" the Republican Party if you live in a state where voters don't register by party -- which happens to be the case in most states?

Registering as a member of a certain political party is not a lifetime committment.

I chose to change my registration from GOP to No Party Affiliation in my ‘closed primary’ state to send a message right now that I am not supporting them.

In the 2022 primary election I can change my registration back to GOP if by chance there are good conservative candidates challenging the Leftist GOP Incumbents.

So please do not be afraid about changing your voter registration today. You can always change back to GOP if the situation warrants it.

I thought they can’t impeach a President who is no the President? I don’t understand why they keep talking about Senate trial. It will be moot after he leaves.
