weather.com gets its info from where most folks get theirs: NOAA and NWS. This national system gets its info from signals sent from the local nodes. Unless I am mistaken, each of those local nodes put out an RSS feed that is publicly accessible.
Even those the info posted in this thread is old, it is still helpful. Sure, could use a little updating, but at least we’re thinking in the right direction.

One more thing - learn how to turn your phone into a hot spot. (iphones can do this, not sure about android) That way you can use your mobile phone to feed internet access to your laptop.
