I’m not agreeing with it just posting cause I found it interesting that when the democrats want to take over another country internet access is so important.
Guess we are down to pony express or courier.
this appears to be true. my laptop does have a modem, waiting to be configured. and we have kept our landline.
I guess we’ll find out between tomorrow and Monday whether we should have taken action...

I did, not telling me anything I am not aware of. Thanx
By Tuesday we will be required to pledge allegiance to the party and sing the black national anthem.
found this as well. needs an ethernet cable so here we’d have to use our desktop. https://itstillworks.com/connect-wireless-landline-5900299.html
I bought a Cobra 50 WXST handheld for my move from CA to TX. It tunes to the nearest WX antenna, which would, by default, be local weather. It holds nine rechargeable batteries, but only comes with a 12V adapter.
You only need a license to transmit. You can listen to any HAM band you want. And if things get that bad the government will not have the resources to track down every pirate broadcaster in the country.
last item needed - dial up numbers. this has been around for awhile - netzero. We would like to keep communication open to relatives in Europe. https://www.netzero.net/free/
Get a printer.
I just realized the other day that I have not used my printer in nearly 10 years. I needed to print something and it didn’t work.
I stopped reading in the first paragraph.
TOR is NOT illegal. Never has been. It’s an open source initiative and is not only legal but recommended among privacy advocates.
Great find!!!

CB and GRMS do not require a license. HF, VHF, and UHF have reserved bands for HAM radio, but radio is not jammable globally or continentally. They may be able to setup localized jamming but the expense and effort would be substantial. Also consider that everything using wireless of some type would be impacted: garage door openers, Bluetooth, cellular, television, terrestrial radio. Short of an EMP or massive X-category solar flare, the amount of power required to jam a substantial band of radio would be on the order of hundreds of megawatts if not gigawatts.
weather.com gets its info from where most folks get theirs: NOAA and NWS. This national system gets its info from signals sent from the local nodes. Unless I am mistaken, each of those local nodes put out an RSS feed that is publicly accessible.
Even those the info posted in this thread is old, it is still helpful. Sure, could use a little updating, but at least we’re thinking in the right direction.
jimjohn - OUT.
I have a stockpile of tires to burn for smoke signals...
Otherwise. ..while its all shut off I have a few good books and a couple of models to work on, might just start that 1/200 scale USS Missouri model.
Good Info. Thank you. We need to see more posts like these.
“Couldn’t govt jam your transmissions anyway?”
Well, if they do, I prefer Strawberry but they’ll probably use Grape.
“Become a Facebook Fan” LOL!
