Except all of the NG troops are under the command of Christopher Miller and Trump, not Congress or the DC mayor. I realize Trump doesn’t want a replay of Jan 6, but I really don’t get why they are creating the optics of military occupation of DC.
If the NG troops are under the command of Miller and President Trump, then why are they there? Who ordered this? Did President Trump order this? The Acting SecDef? Is this being ordered by the governors?
