The CEO of Parler says that his social media platform may never get back online after major service providers accused it of failing to crack down on free speech in order to police content that may “incite violence.”
“It could be never. We don’t know yet,” said Parler CEO John Matze of whether the social media platform will return, in an interview with Reuters. After the Reuters story was published, Matze expanded on his position, saying: “I am an optimist. It may take days, it may take weeks but Parler will return and when we do we will be stronger.”
Parler was kicked off app stores, as well as the internet altogether, when a handful of big tech companies made the decision at the same time to ban the social media platform out of existence.

I still have my Parler app on my phone - replaced Twitter app with it. Hoping it will come back.
Social media giants: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!
Gab is head and shoulders above Parler, but still pitifully slow
Hope their new servers get up and running
I think he took a pay off, rather than an uphill expensive fight that he may not win.
Just my opinion, watch his net worth.
I think Amazon administered the head shot to Cloud Computing.
“I think Amazon administered the head shot to Cloud Computing.”

That is solid gold truth.
Folks,
It is time to go back to the basics, called neighbors.
Put some beer and meat in the garage, open the garage door and find the warriors
Mal 3:16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke with each other, and the LORD listened to what they said.

“Head shot to Cloud Computing”
Bump
Hopefully they can soon upgrade from their current server, however, as it is a bit slow (below):
That’s not the main show. High profile posting sites are under fire. We need thousands of posting sites
They’re getting out their cuban cigars & high fiving each other or elbow bumping.
I have a SIL who is a programmer. A good one who makes huge money. He’s never been out of work, lives in a fancy house in a fancy neighborhood, drives nice cars..
Back a few years ago he was telling me about a cloud storage system he was developing...like googles photo cloud.
He asked me what I thought of it. I told him that as a consumer, I wouldn’t want it or use it. That I preferred my data to remain in my possession. I doubted the security as it would be more exposed and whomever owns the cloud owns your data too. And if that cloud company goes out of business or is otherwise shut down, what happens to your stuff?
Computers are glitchy whether its mine, yours or someone elses. Im just as capable of backups as anyone else.
Well, that’s not the answer he wanted to hear and it turns out we were both right. Other consumers liked it and indeed, the cloud owner owns the stuff and can shut you out from your stuff at it’s will.
It’s very easy to build a racecar computer, and more affordable if you have to buy the parts a piece at a time. You can stack as many hard disks as your hearts desire and have all the space you will ever need. Just begin with a case that can accept a boatload of hardrives as you might want..even 7 or 10. And make each newly added drive the biggest you can get. Put one OS on it and dedicate the rest as storage space.
My laptop holds 2 hard drives. Even that has a ton of space and then I can add external harddrives also. Lotsa ways to skin a cat.
Parler can do the same. Get their own OS and then all they need is an internet provider with a fast connection.
I think that’s sort of ehat JR does.
Instead of being at the mercy of several, you’re at the mercy of one.
Software can be written to work with either computers or mobile phones. My phone is a phablet so I can tell my browser which version I want.
So which is it?? Never returning or coming back better than ever??
First Parler tried to get up and running by exploiting a movement and circumventing the process. If Parler wants to get back up and running they need to do so by owning their own servers and hooking that up to the internet. They can’t depend on any other company to provide their platform, they have to do it themselves. This is what happens when people try to act quickly expecting that if “they build it they will come” without thinking everything through. Well it was like they built it on someone else’s farm and got told to pack up and leave the premises. To replace Twitter is going to cost more than a few lines of code. It is going to take hardware as well. I never went onto Parler because they couldn’t get the “entrance” correct. Nor did they vet the people coming to them. Lefties flocked in droves to Parler to do what is being done now. It was almost like the Capitol Riot but only on Parler. Parler tried to make money off a situation and failed.
Parler has to become its own ISP. It cannot rely on any other ISP. Why? Well you said who owns the cloud can cut you off at any time. It’s the same with ISPs. Parler has to own and become their own ISP to connect to the internet. It is how cloud server farms popped up originally. It is also how many ISPs popped up until the cable companies wanted the action and took over. The right line installed can connect Parler directly to the internet without going through a 3rd party to get there. But that involves a more complex answer than simple coding.
Gab had a billionaire backer that paid for everything. There is no indication that anybody is stepping up for Parler.
