Gun manufacturer Colt, an American legend and Connecticut fixture for nearly 175 years, could come under European ownership in a deal being negotiated with a Czech firearms company.

Česká zbrojovka Group SE, or CZG, which is negotiating to purchase Colt Holding Co., said it has reached agreement on the outlines of a deal with the West Hartford gun manufacturer.

Obama tried that, it did not work. A friend told me containers full of surplus AKs and East European ammo were dumped at sea because some rule was passed by Obama and they could not bring the shipment into USA for sale, cheaper just to take the lost then to ship them back. All that did was bring up the price of AKs until American manufacturers started making their own variants. It did not really matter, by then there were millions of AKs available in the USA anyway.

I would guess we have between 600 and 900 million weapons in the United States at this point. Everything from pistols to hunting rifles. The feds have no idea how many weapons are out there and they do not know who has them. How many men inherited numerous functioning rifles and pistols going back generations? How many weapons have been sold or traded between individuals in private transactions. I once had a rifle that was heavy in a caliber and weight. It was very similar in ballistics to numerous hunting rifles I already owned. It was a boutique buy on my part. I sold it and use the proceeds to get a solid rifle for defense and hunting that weighted less. That was years ago, I have no idea where that rifle is now. Neither do the Feds. This is the only thing that stands between us and tyranny right now. The only thing that stands between the RATS having total control of this country.

The mouse pointer I see is like what you would see looking through a scope. I really don’t have a place to post pix that I could then point you to.

Samuel Colt might be dancing if they buy it. CZ is a great gun maker. The only thing I’d be sad about is Colt hq is out of CT. (Raytheon Technologies (United Technologies new name) is based in Mass now, so is GE, while Aetna is still based in Hartford but it is owned by RI based CVS. Of course, Colt hasn’t made anything under the BLUE ONION in years. I believe it is housing now...

I assume, sitting in KCKS, they come over to your house for lunch.

Perhaps they can help with the failed re-launch of the Python.

LOL!

Only in my dreams.

My cousin did work for them in their factory in the early 2010s. He really liked it, if he hadn't met his wife he'd probably still be there.

I am super excited for this and yes, a CZ branded Python would be a great project.

Their current headquarters is in KC. In April they opened a 40 acre factory site on the Arkansas River south of Little Rock and plan to move their headquarters there. BTW CZ also owns Dan Wesson.

I had told my best friend that they make great 9mm and he should check them out by visiting the CZ Custom shop in Mesa the next time he is in here.

He didn’t have the patience to wait and just bought the CZ 75 TS Czechmate. It is the factory top of the line competition race gun. I was envious beyond belief so I went ahead and got my Kimber K6S SADA 4” Combat Revolver which while not as tricked out is still a primo revolver I know he will want to shoot.

The cursor changes to a gun site image. Looks like this:

/I’m too lazy to add the script to imbed a picture.

Why does CZ want to drop down to that level?

CZ is a great company. They will rescue the good parts of Colt and probably improve the quality. No problem with this acquisition.

CZ imports the only Turkish made shotguns worth buying, and warranties them well. Their.22’s are top quality as well.

Always fun to visit the store when I get off the train at one of my favorite cities. Prague.

Sigh. God, I wish I was traveling.
