I learned something in recent years about the Gestapo. The men in the brown trench coats interrogating and torturing people with “ve half ways of making you tok” only lasted a for a few months of their history. They morphed into a government clearing house for information gathering from family and neighbors snitching on others. Most of their arrests and interrogations were eventually refereed to the SS for action.
