Helena Duke says she publicly identified her mother, aunt and uncle from a crowd of Trump supporters in Washington, D.C., because it was "the right thing to do."
Duke, an 18-year-old Massachusetts high school student, spotted her relatives in a viral video of an altercation between Trump supporters and a Black woman in D.C. one day before the deadly siege on the U.S. Capitol building.
On Twitter, she posted: "hi mom remember the time you told me I shouldn't go to BLM protests bc they could get violent...this you?" In a followup tweet, she identified her mom, aunt and uncle by name.
"I think a lot of it came from the fact that it was just very hypocritical, and what she was doing in this video was incredibly wrong," Duke told As It Happens host Carol Off.
"Seeing the video and seeing all the people and the FBI asking for identification of the individuals in the video, I decided after a lot of processing — because, of course, it's emotional and it is my family — I decided that this is the right thing to do."

Do they not teach history anymore? I ask because if that subject was still available the author of the article might know what a seige actually entails.
I’d burn my house down before I left it to offspring that did that...
“My mom would only leave them a penny. “

When my beloved husband and I updated our wills our attorney advised us to leave my youngest son $100 so he couldn’t contest it in court.
Some states allow one dollar as the lowest amount to avoid issues.
Some will say if it’s contested you get nothing at all.
We wanted to make sure he had no legal leg to stand upon.
Hence, the one dollar in my comment.
Yes, I would have left my youngest without a penny, if I had my way. If I satisfied my own way, though, the estate would have to pay to fight the case in court and I did not/do not want any chance of him winning anything in or out of court.
Guys you are comparing apples and oranges.
How much was the house and how much was the pay and how much were taxes?
i bet your grandson will be not able to do that. what is an average home today, $750,000? What is the average pay, $45,000?
What a food little Nazi she is turning out to be. Honoring her father and mother is not what a dead soul does, eh?
“My Irish family would have beat her black and blue. “

My Irish family’s goal is to hurt her where she values loss and it’s in the Arena Of Money & Belongings.
LOL Hence, disowning her and setting the will up nice a tight. That’s a life-long punishment, especially for a spoilt girl, soon to be a vicious adult female.
It actually does apply.
When we accept Jesus, we are called into account for every single thought, word and deed, while upon this earth, AS WE LIVE UPON THIS EARTH.
The draws into account belonging in various political parties that espouse views that are contrary to the will of the LORD.
Many, many, folks are going to claim to belong to Jesus and will be stunned when they are not ‘known’ by Jesus.
It’s absolutely frightening how the lack of spiritual knowledge will enable people to drive themselves right off the narrow path unto the road into hell.
Sigh.

I suppose it depends on where you are located but here in my part of fly over country a $750,000 house is a mansion or very close to it.
No, I didn’t see that.
I’m sorry to hear it.
A very appropriate response.
You can always add him back in should he genuinely repent and ask your forgiveness.
I would not let on what you are planning on doing.
How did your husband deal with him?
The reason is that if someone is willing to betray their own parent, they will do it to anyone.
Another option is to give what you can to the one you intend on keeping in the will, is to give a yearly amount.
I think you can do $14,000 /year tax free per child and from each parent.
Shunning is what we’re doing. He’s 18 and can fend for himself. Excluding him and not including him in family matters.
In NYS, you can’t kick them out until they are 21!
That’s ridiculous.
Sounds like you are doing the wise thing.
He’s a conservative but has been influenced by female classmates.
and repeal the 19th ...
Hi, metmom-!
We were advised at the time it could be $10,000 yearly.
It would be nice if it were increased. :)
The sibling who would inherit it is really quite astute and responsible; we’d have to weigh which way would be practical for him.
Not to mention we do not want to give the government any reason to tax any of it.
