Growing up, we had a davenport in our living room. Our three meals were breakfast, dinner, and supper. Sometimes we went to the weekly smorgasbord. We drank pop. We rode a toboggan instead of wearing it. Believe you me, I’m telling you the truth.
We were exactly like that. I still can’t get used to “dinner” being at night; it’s supposed to be at noon when you’re home. “Lunch” is what you ate at school. Supper is at 5 p.m.
