Working for 25 years in Corrections makes you question everything, not just from the inmates, but from staff as well. It also made me very security conscious, something I've never gotten over, and it still makes me cringe when I see someone, mostly women do stupid things like leave their purses unattended to go roaming around the produce area. I'm a female, and I used to say something to them, politely telling them that they were leaving themselves open to becoming a victim, but after some of them gave me looks like I was a thief, I stopped saying anything.
