I too see that as a possibility. I think that Red States need to start making plans to seize military assets.
Do you know what is really interesting? Because the elites in the coast did not want to be the primary targets during a nuclear war, they put most of the nuclear weapons in flyover country. Montana and North Dakota would be world leading nuclear powers if they were not part of the United States.
It is only smart because it tracks everything the attached human does.
A conservative game developer?
I think I will go hunt for Bigfoot.

As rare as being a conservative Professor, but I’m both. Rare, but we exist. Many of us forced overseas. That’s one of the reasons why I can’t get hired at one of the FAANG companies. They do check your social media.
Went to a very Conservative Undergraduate and Graduate engineering school (Jerry Doyle was a schoolmate), taught US troops and dependents overseas for 10 years until George Bush Senior (BRAC) and the University of Phoenix effed us all.
I am in Washington State. This place is very blue in the metro area, very red in the other areas. We have massive military bases here. Two aircraft carriers, one nuke sub base, one of the largest army bases, massive helo, global transport, naval air station, tanker, bombers.... This State alone is a monster military power. I live very near the base, and the soldiers are generally; from out of state (red states), patriotic, good people. No way these people will be happy being led by commies.
When I went to visit my youngest son and his wife in August they had one of those Amazon devises, and used it to turn music on and off. I live alone, and to have a device talking back to me would piss me off to no end. When I first got my iPhone, Siri was on. One night I was sitting watching TV, and out of nowhere, Siri starts talking...telling me she’s searching for a word...I don’t remember it now, and then she starting reading off a bunch of things. After I inspected the phone and shut her off, I went online and searched to see what the hell could have happened. And it turned out that she must have heard a word or phrase from the TV show I was watching, and responded to it.

I red-ring mine and use the app. I also turn on “continue” mode so no talk back.
Can message or voice broadcast from the US to all echo devices I have in the Philippines with no problem sitting in my truck in Colorado. Or turn on music remotely. Or be an annoying prick... :) too bad it’s one-way and voice quality sucks most of the time.
Well, the hospital has been revamped & remodeled so many times I don’t think there is anything left of what was there when I was born. The grammar school was repurposed as low income/subsidized apartments. High School is pretty much the same - so, 2 outta 3, I’d say.
Lin Wood’s track record of delivering results is up there with Trey Gowdy—all talk, no results.
unless Siri could get up and take a wee for me every 45 minutes, so I wouldn’t have to, then there’s not a damn thing she can’t do for me that I can’t do for myself.

I’m not a doctor, just an old fart.
That too..and they were my sons toys!!!
Hundreds of dollars is insane. I’ll just break out the LP’S, or cassettes, or CD’S, or as a last resort 8-tracks if’n I’m real desperate.
——————————
Had maybe a thousand LPs at one time. Mostly radio station demos from when I was a DJ. All stolen from a storage locker - all rock and alternative rock - when I was overseas. Never got into cassettes (except making my own mix tapes), lost my entire CD collection at the Marikina Philippines Post Office (3 huge binders) when they wanted $10 import fee per CD as well as an import license. Didn’t have the $3K laying around... got into mp3s during the Napster thing. Lost thousands of tracks (basically what I had on vinyl and CD) with a hard drive crash and a faulty backup - only backed up the file names. cloud stuff didn’t exist back then. Was happy when Amazon music came along. All my Shiite for free as long as I had Amazon Prime.
Classic 70s and 80s rock. Some Country. So you are saying that’s not worth listening to?
No. I’m saying there is no music worth listening to that I would be willing to go buy a device to listen to it and have it decide if I can listen to it or not.
Siri and Alexa, aka iSpy.
:D
“No music is worth listening to anymore.”
Looks like a good time for some chill to fit the mood around here. ;)

That’s true. But I’m not going to spend hundreds of dollars on a device that decides for me if I’m permitted to listen to those classics.

Got my last Echo Dot for free, including shipping. I don’t see the hundreds of dollars...
You can get an Android phone through the Obamaphone program for about $100.
Regardless of whether this is true or not, one should still turn off forced updates for the duration.
Presumably Apple’s move (and Android if it happens) will block all emergency notifications, which would include severe weather alerts.
This could lead to some interesting lawsuits.
