---snip---

President Trump committed impeachable offenses that disqualify him from serving.

“I do think the president committed impeachable offenses but I don’t know what’s going to land on the Senate floor,” Toomey told “The Journal Editorial Report” on Fox News.

Toomey, however, waffled on whether Congress should move forward with impeachment given President-elect Joe Biden will take power on Jan. 20.

“I have to say I do think the president’s behavior this week does disqualify him from serving but we’ve got 10 days,” Toomey said.

The Pennsylvania senator said he’s unsure whether it’s logistically possible, practical or desirable to try to remove Trump with such little time left

That is what I cannot understand though I have my thoughts on possibilities

We are passive unless struck.

Did the republican party not think of the real world repercussions of their supporting the coup??

Or do they think people will just forget about it ??

A coup and totalitarianism is not something people forgive nor forget for Generations..

Or, they are all going to live in Joe’s Basement.

President Trump’s impeachable offence is/was being elected. He interrupted their progress toward progressivism. MOST important, he interrupted their access to all of the trillions of dollars. Never forget what a San Francisco democRAT stated “if we don’t win, we don’t eat.” The idea of getting a real job, going to work every day, actually producing something, is anathema to these creepozoids.

Need to find a way to remove Toomey and others that think like this from Congress - quickly. I’m not talking in two years. And I Alren Toomey is not running again. That makes him more dangerous

After the House impeaches Trump this week, I think the Senate GOP will vote 43-7 (along with 50 Democrats) to NOT remove Trump from office but to disqualify him from “holding any office of trust or profit under the United States” in the future.

The show is over.

How would that work?

That sounds an awful lot like a bill of attainder.

Well, it kind of is, but the Senate has specific authority in Article I section 4 to do exactly that.

Look, I'm sure AT LEAST the 19 GOP Senators required to remove him last February (+48 Democrats = 67) were DYING to do it, but they didn't have the balls.

We would have been better off had they done so, rather than agreeing to look the other way when the election was stolen in November (which they obviously did) - better off in the sense that we could have gone to the polls knowing who was who instead of the foolish "GOP good, Dems bad" nonsense that prevails around here.

McConnell thinks he will get the best of both worlds by removing Trump after his term is over but making sure he can't come back.

But Mitch, to quote the Emperor: "It is you who are mistaken - about a great many things".
