[I must have missed the part where the Tiananmen Square protesters were interfering with the workings of a Constitutional Republic. ]

China is a constitutional republic. In reality, of course, it’s a monarchy in a republic’s clothing. But even constitutional republics don’t have the right to kill unarmed individuals in cold blood. That’s why MacArthur is pilloried for his role in the killing an determinate number of protestors during the Bonus Army’s camp-out. Hoover’s move contributed to his landslide defeat at FDR’s hands in 1932.

I assume you are an LEO. You may think you have the right to massacre protestors. In 1932, life was cheap. No one thought twice about following orders to fire on American civilians. Today, the soldiers involved would probably spend the rest of their lives in prison. Attitudes have changed. Elected officials aren’t kings whose primary distinction is that they have to run for office. Even the style of governance has to be different. That includes not slaughtering unarmed protestors.

You assume incorrectly. I am a civilian who is tired of seeing criminals coddled by left and right alike.
