Mitch McConnell has really screwed the pooch but not enough to throw the election. Many prominent Republicans in general have been Democrat supporting asshats who have back stabbed President Trump and provided no justification for their existence.

The problem lies with Georgia Sec of State and Kemp who enabled massive mail in voting and allowed close to 100K new illegal Stacy Abrams manufactured mail in ballots for the special election alone. Election fraud from Democrats and enabled by Republicans is difficult to overcome.
