The $600 was negotiated by Mnuchin and Pelosi, but somehow Trump decides after watching TV that $2,000 was a better idea. If anything doomed this vote, it was Trump torpedoing the bill his team helped negotiate.

$600 vs $2000, it is a simple math. Voters are not as smart as you think. They care a lot about what they can get immediately. Especially in this time of hardship. GOP had to negate Dem’s move. Sticking to $600 is a bad move. That would even alienate some conservatives.

And what the hell does this have to do with McConnell so hell bent on poking the President in the eye he refuses to pass the stand alone $2,000 payment sent over from the House. REFUSES, 10 days before an election.
But sends billions of our dollars overseas.
