I really don’t know.
Yesterday, I was thinking (my theory / speculation) that VP Pence was going to start the process of counting the electoral votes tomorrow. When he gets to Arizona, a Representative and a Senator would object. At that point, Pence would somehow find a way to send the contested states back to their state legislatures, to fix their messes.
This could allow approximately 10 days for state legislatures to hold hearings and potentially designate the alternate slate of electors.
Part of the problem is that many of the state legislatures are not currently in session, and governors are not willing to call a special session.
But this new thing with Grassley seems to be hinting at something else.

You’re correct, but I know they’re varying dates. Not for sure, but I think these state legislators can call a session if a certain majority of house/senate members agree. It’s all a tall order of course.
