I have pretty good concealed carry insurance, but I am certain that it would not apply if I tracked someone down and killed them.

In general, insurance can't pay out for the commission of a crime. Check your policy, I have USCCA and from memory they pay unless/until you're convicted, it stops then and don't require return of funds paid to you or your attorney prior to that. But don't take my word for it if you're concerned, check.

Yep, same carrier. No, I’m not concerned. There’s no way I would track someone down and confront them. The insurance is if I absolutely have to shoot someone. I read the rules, but it’s been a while ago. But, in general, when I read them they all made sense and there was nothing where I thought I’d do anything differently than what was required to maintain full coverage.

“...tracked someone down and killed them”

You make it too easy. Tracking someone down is not a crime. Killing them may not be either. Many other factors need to be considered. Change of mind before finding. Crim attempts to kill you when you decided not to kill them. And so on.
