There is so much propaganda out there and couple that with modern journalists misuse of the English language that write stories that have multiple interpretations, and this can all be a huge mess to sort out.
Add to this the enormous amount of defeatist negativism here on FR, and the next thing you know they will have us being marched to the pits by Chinese soldiers for execution.

We don’t know what he means by “bitter end”. That could be the 6th of January when the EC votes are tallied.
