There are a couple of ways to look at this.

But the other way is that Pence has known for two months that he would be put in this spot. He has lawyers who have worked on the problem for probably the entire two months. From what I have read, they take the position that the Constitution does not allow the VP to decide who will be president.
Add to that Pence is no cowboy.
There is a lot of pressure now that was not evident even a few weeks ago on the part of important politicians in the states under discussion. There is a good chance they will find a way to with draw their confirmation of Biden,
Wait until we hear from Pence. A lot will happen on January 6 and Pence will not be the only show pony.

When he was governor of Indiana, he caved to protests from the homosexual lobby and agreed to legislation that watered down a religious rights measure that he had just signed into law, so I'm not holding my breath that he has the fire in the belly to go to the mat to save the Trump administration--and America.
