That reality is, nobody to this point has done anything courageous or what would be required to do the right thing. They won’t start now.

Nobody in office can be expected to do anything courageous. Their duty is to hearken to the expressed will of the people, and for lack of better, that lies in the counted votes.

Now, if the will of the people were made loud and clear some other way -- the officials would yield to that. We the people should do whatever we can to make our will understood by our public servants. Turn out and protest, refuse to support a corrupt government with our tax dollars. If enough people make enough of an impression, we will prevail. But waiting for politicians to do the right thing is like voting for politicians -- it's futile.
