The paste is formulated to give 91mcg/# bw so a 250# dose that is marked on the syringe is 22,750 mcg which is roughly half the recommended dose of 40,000mcg. I took half the recommended dose for three days and will take two more doses. If one wished to take the dose marked in the literature one would take the 500# dose to get the recommended 200mcg/# dose. As I read it, ivermectin interferes with the replication of the virus so any ivermectin in the system will decrease the process thereby reducing the virulence of the infection. I figured half dose is better than none and since there is no resistance with a low dose why not?
