I am glad that Tennessee has the death penalty. I think that the warning was to protect the bombers from legal consequences of their actions such as long jail sentences or the death penalty, not out of concern for the nearby residents.
The bombers were probably lawyered up with the smartest left wing lawyers available who no doubt have warned them of the consequences. If the bombers are caught, the lawyers will drag the proceedings on for many months hoping the public will have forgotten about what happened. The media will barely mention it and when they have to mention it they will be sure to mention that the bombers took care to warn residents. This will be to make them seem to be caring people. After a couple of years the lawyers will make attempts to have them freed from jail on the excuses that they were young idealist who really meant to do know harm. This will not even make the television news. All forgotten.
Oh, I almost forgot, if they are shown being taken into court they will, no doubt be wearing covid19 masks which serves a double purpose, to protect them from covid19 and to cover their identity.
