I liked a lot of her songs back when she was famous, but I was always just a little bit embarrassed thinking of her as
“That girl named ‘Juice’. How did anybody come up with that or justify it? Maybe times really were simpler back then.
I know that was her stage name.

Her name was Judy Kay Newton and her family called her Juice for whatever reason. Record label wanted her to drop the Juice but she refused.

I guess it's a good thing she wasn't nicknamed Fig.
