The University of Michigan has been blasted as 'moronic' for launching a task force which has branded the words 'picnic,' 'brown bag' and 'blacklist' as offensive terms which could harm morale.
The 'Words Matter Task Force' - set up by the school's Information and Technology Services department - listed more than two dozen words and phrases that could be perceived as offensive to some people, and provided an alternative term that could be used instead.
'To effectively communicate with customers, it is important for ITS to evaluate the terms and language conventions that may hinder effective communication, harm morale, and deliberately or inadvertently exclude people from feeling accepted to foment a healthy and inclusive culture,' the task force's memorandum says.

Don’t we have to ban the word PERSON since it obviously refers to a male individual?
It is banned based on false information on social media. In short, they know it is false but they did it anyway. Science!!!
I hope this means they will purge from their libraries, their archives of works published by professors and students, and their textbooks, all works that make use of these words.
And for all dissertations and thesis papers that included them, rescind the credential.
We must be thorough.
By the way... I think the term “Master’s Degree” should be changed to “Follower’s Degree” (per their list suggestions and in the spirit of U of M Newspeak).
Can they please tell me what I’m offended by, since I have no college degree?
I remember Kim Novack and William Holden having a ‘gathering’ by the railroad track.
Guess they’ll have to rename the title song also.
