God spared a righteous remnant of ten people at Sodom and Gomorrah; surely the proportion of the righteous in modern America is greater than that. There are millions who never consented and do not agree with most of the social changes that some here believe form the justification for God to punish all Americans. What are the righteous and just supposed to do, bring forward the judgement without God or Jesus Christ present? We are not given that authority.
Hitler was obviously a very disturbed and demonic person but his anger began from provocations that we could perhaps understand today; the left had weakened his country and left it wide open to the possibility of Soviet-inspired revolution.
His methods of countering that form a cautionary tale for us. Sometimes the cure is a lot worse than the disease. We need to be cautious, always in prayer, and aware of the potential for bad things to happen (to everyone, who at the end of Germany’s misadventure came out ahead? nobody, they were lucky the western Allies over-ran most of their country before the Russians arrived, or they would have been turned into slaves for generations).
My point is this — we need to resist, but not to provoke mass violence. We also need to pray for God to intervene. Many have thought we are approaching those times. This seems like the perfect time to straighten out the mess humans have made even in America, let alone other places. Perhaps God won’t be as cautious or measured as we need to be. Let the unjust worry about that.
