Stephan Roh, Mifsud’s lawyer, has repeatedly stated that Mifsud was working for Western intelligence, and that he is hiding out for his own protection as a result...
A December 2019 report on the FBI’s Russia investigation, headed by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz, found no evidence that Mifsud had ever worked for the FBI. In response, Papadopoulos wrote on Twitter that this finding “Leaves only one other option: CIA”.

The Post article dismisses Link’s ties to Western intelligence as merely represented by a single CIA-sponsored conference co-hosted by Link in 2004.
But that’s far from the full picture.
Former CIA analyst Stephen Marrin was a guest lecturer at Link.
FBI Special Agent Preston Ackerman apparently gave a presentation at Link in September 2016.
Andrew Bagley, former FBI adviser and, since 2015, privacy counsel to CrowdStrike, was a visiting researcher at Link in 2010, according to his 2015 resumé.
Italian Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta has been the director of “Special Projects” at Link since 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Claire Smith, a career UK diplomat and former member of the UK Joint Intelligence Committee, gave a training to high-ranking Italian military officials in Rome in 2012, which was co-organized by Link. Smith was photographed there, standing next to Mifsud.
General Carmine Masiello and Roberto Baldoni, both deputy directors of the Italian Department of Security Intelligence, lectured or gave talks at Link...
Link’s director himself, Vincenzo Scotti, was the Italian interior minister in the early 1990s.
The list goes on...
Link Campus supposedly cut ties with Mifsud after his conversations with Papadopoulos came out in late 2017...
But Mifsud was still living in Rome until May 2018 in an apartment apparently provided by Link Campus, according to an April 18 report by Italian list Il Foglio (CAN’T CONNECT TO LINK).

One of the key turning points in the investigation happened in Italy. It is no coincidence that US Senator Lindsay Graham, one of Trump’s closest allies and one of the leading critics of Mueller’s investigation, has been visiting Rome over the last few days.
There are many unanswered questions, one of the most important being: where is Joseph Mifsud? Il Foglio does not know, but it can reveal where he hid for seven months after disappearing: in Rome, in a rented flat paid by Link Campus University. Mifsud taught there, and Il Foglio understands that he owns 35 per cent of Link International, which Link Campus owns 55 per cent of (the remaining 10 per cent is owned by Roberto Lippi, domiciled in Bogotà, Colombia)...
COMMENT #1: Interesting article from an Italian newspaper. Good background on Mifsud and Link University. What is particularly noteworthy is that it appears Lindsey Graham was in Rome during the same time as the date of the article, ostensibly to discuss Libya. He was accompanied by Senators John Barrasso, Chris Coons, Ben Sasse and Congressman Michael McCaul. I wonder if Mifsud came up in his discussions with the Italians.
