And that would be bad because??

(referring roberts resigning now)

Seems we couldn’t do much worse.

Yes, we can do much worse.

Throughout his career, the Chief Justice has almost always sided with the most conservative of his colleagues: Justice Kavanaugh (89%); Justice Alito (88%); Justice Thomas (85%); Justice Scalia (84%). By contrast, his alignment frequency with liberal justices is 10% or less with Justices Kagan, Ginsburg, and Stevens.

With an 82% conservative voting record in split decisions, Roberts falls just four percentage points lower than his most conservative colleague, Justice Gorsuch, according to this measure. His percentage of conservative votes in 5-4 decisions is just two percentage points lower than Justice Alito’s and two points above Justice Thomas’s. As the chart indicates, there is essentially no partisan difference distinguishing his voting record from those of Justices Kavanaugh, Alito, Thomas, and Scalia.

Issued opinion for 5-4 majority in Shelby County (2013), dismantling the Voting Rights Act despite its recent reauthorization by a nearly unanimous Congress, and despite evidence suggesting that disabling the Act would allow voter suppression.

Joined 5-4 majority that reeled in unions in Janus v. AFSCME (2018).

Issued opinion for 5-4 majority upholding President Trump’s travel ban in Trump v. Hawaii (2018).

Joined 5-4 decision in Heller (2008) finding for the first time that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to bear arms.

Joined 5-4 decision in Citizens United (2010), upholding First Amendment rights for corporations.

Joined 5-4 decision in Hobby Lobby (2014), upholding religious rights for corporations.

Joined 5-4 decision in AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion (2011), protecting corporations from frivolous lawsuits.

Joined conservative justices in a dissent that would have effectively overturned Roe v. Wade.

Voted to oppose gay marriage in Windsor (2013) and Obergefell (2015).

Joined 5-4 majority (2018), allowing the Trump administration to ban transgenderservice members from the military.

Shall I go on, because I can.

How many 5-4 decisions do you think Biden's Scotus Pick will side with conservatives on?

Lin Wood is not our friend.

Benedict Arnold was a patriot until he wasn’t. Dont defend those who are treasonous, it’s really that simple.

Okay, Mr. Smart Guy. Run the same stats for the last four years. Roberts went in over 15 years ago. Something changed when Trump arrived.

So, let’s see your data for the last four years.

By the way, Wood may not be your friend, but he is sure our friend (most on this forum).

You raise good points but I respectfully disagree with you. Several of Roberts rulings have been completely “off the wall” and inexplicable, costly and very harmful to many. He was reported to have been on Epsteins plane. There is a question about his children’s legal status.
There’s the recent report on what he screamed to his colleagues about the Texas lawsuit.

To borrow the old adage “where there’s smoke there may be fire”............all these questions need to be answered. Roberts is either a Patriot or he is not. Lin Wood is sacrificing his law career to focus the bright light on Roberts. Good for him.

It's good to have information that Roberts usually votes with the conservatives.

He only bails on the really important votes.
