People living in poverty in the U.S. have a standard of living that would be the envy of most people in the world. Im many parts of the U.S., the typical poor person is a fat slob with an iPhone. Just think about that for a moment.

Yeah - right - it’s much better to “trickle down” money from the government?

BS.

Tell that to the homeless in L.A.
The devastated cities of Minneapolis.
The city of Seattle where the “high tax government” turned the city over to communists and refused to protect the people who, y’know, paid those taxes or refuse to pay for police.

BS. BS. BS.

And 50 years of support to Low Income and War on Poverty have failed. It’s time to eliminate those Federal Programs!

well I'll go out on a limb here and say, while GDP and UE may have remained indifferent, (was it adjusted for population increase I wonder) the quality and standard of living greatly increased. Rich speculators built cities and towns. They endowed universities, libraries, museums, youth sports and educational grants, churches, scientific research, hospitals, the olympics and the arts from ballet to jazz. Whereas heavy taxes controlled by bureaucrats tend to go into large, wasteful pet projects they can put their name on - bullet trains and bridges to nowhere, tearing down 30-year old buildings as ‘too old’, wasteful poverty programs that never alleviate poverty, and the salaries and perks and inside dealing for themselves and their cronies.

“The study compared countries that passed tax cuts in a specific year, such as the U.S. in 1982 when President Ronald Reagan slashed taxes on the wealthy, with those that didn’t, and then examined their economic outcomes.”

Dear CBS News,

Regarding the above statement, why then did people risk their lives by climbing over the Berlin Wall in order to escape communist rule in East Germany? Why did people in countries like East Germany, Poland, Hungary, and elsewhere in the East Bloc watch programs like Dallas and Dynasty and pay top dollar for a pair of Levi jeans on the black market?

I agree we need to replace much of the income tax with a really high import tariff.

Comparing different countries. Was there a comparison of each country before and after tax cuts or increases? Playing games with statistics.

The trickle down consists mainly of low unemployment rate.

I’m sure that 50 years of importing larglely illiterate, unskilled, and often criminal, illegal aliens, and calling them citizens, had nothing to do with it.

And I’m sure that 50 years of increasing government corruption, tyranny, expansion, profligate spending, and associated increases in taxes flowing through said government, had nothing to do with it.

Even if it were true, that’s why you need tax cuts for EVERYONE.

The “rich” or large corporate entities that employ millions of Americans? Perhaps its the interruption of this process each time a democrat takes office that rolls back progress? The facts do not lik... Trumps tax cuts trickled down into every economic metric in a positive fashion...as advertised.

Tax cuts are awesome. But, the proper order of slashing .gov and reducing spending didn't occur. As of now, we have created massive debt and enlarged .gov. That can't work.

We have created a illusion of prosperity. The illusion will harm the future. Higher taxes and less growth are a given to pay the credit card bills that the past and present ran up.

The federal tax cuts’ widespread economic benefits were lessened by socialistic state policies, environmental extremism, and poverty-increasing social policies (wrong immigrants, bad schools, drugs, crime, etc.).

Tax cuts for the wealthy have long drawn support from conservative lawmakers and economists who argue that such measures will “trickle down” and eventually boost jobs and incomes for everyone else.

So, start with a lie, and then move forward into others.
