Georgia announces signature matching review in all counties
Washington Times ^ | 17 Dec 20

Georgia officials on Thursday caved to requests for a statewide signature matching effort after President Trump’s campaign has repeatedly asked for the study since the Nov. 3 elections.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced a statewide effort to review signatures for absentee ballots in all of the state’s 159 counties. The move is an attempt to rebuild trust in the state’s election process.

The announcement comes less than three weeks before the Georgia Senate runoff elections on Jan. 5, which will determine what party holds the majority in the upper chamber.

Mr. Raffensperger announced the partnership with the University of Georgia in a press release on Thursday. The study will analyze a random sample of signatures for mail-in ballots during November’s presidential election.

The review will take a look at the signature matching efforts used across the state and include random samples from each county.

“We are confident that elections in Georgia are secure, reliable and effective,” Mr. Raffensperger said.

“Despite endless lawsuits and wild allegations from Washington, D.C., pundits, we have seen no actual evidence of widespread voter fraud, though we are investigating all credible reports. Nonetheless, we look forward to working with the University of Georgia on this signature match review to further instill confidence in Georgia’s voting systems,” he added.

Doesn’t help

They are not matching signature on file to signature on ballot. They are looking at signature on mail in envelope (which was thrown away but never mind) to signature on ballot

Until outside auditing firms are employed by each side to do a full audit, this is nothing but cover up by Georgia’s GOP leadership to get them off the hot seat they created for themselves.

👍 👍 👍 👍 👏 👏 👏 👏

GA SoS Raffensberger would not acquiesce to statewide signature matching unless he knows the outcome will likewise be fraudulent; no doubt selected "sampling".

Shouldn’t be too hard. 100 “people” signed 1.2 million ballots...

"Oh, and please add “white” to that list lol."

How did I manage to miss that one?

By the way, my mother was born in Picton, Ontario so I have quite a bit of ancestry from Canada. Her ancestors are listed in "Pioneer life on the Bay of Quinte." Her side of the family originally came from England, Wales, Scotland, and Holland, and settled in New Amsterdam. There's also a bit of Norway and Sweden thrown in. She also had ancestors who came over on the Mayflower. My mother never knew any of her family history.

My great-uncle John Stanley Holmes served with the 38th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in WWI. He was killed in France two months before the Armistice, and is buried there in a British Military Cemetery. Tim Horton was supposedly a cousin of mine. And several members of her family fought in the Revolutionary War on both sides. In fact it was Loyalists from the Dutchess County, NY area that left the State and headed to Canada after the war ended. Fox, Way, Cross, Holmes, Gordanier are some of the names.

No, but our team will trust but verify this time. If they don't, they deserve what they get.

Pretty scary putting our future in their hands., I admit.

They should find a judge who will order hands on observers.

Democrats would not let Republicans steal an election.

The Georgia Legislature can’t call themselves into session without a 2/3rds vote, which requires Dem votes they won’t get.

The Republican governor, Kemp, could call them into special session. He will not. There is all sorts of speculation why out there.

The move is an attempt to rebuild trust in the state’s election process.

Too little, too late. Our county did this BEFORE reporting final results and, as a result, took until the weekend after Thanksgiving. Of course, we knew we had a George Soros flunky as Secretary of State.
