He’s not switching parties especially after the Democrats are successful in stealing the two Senate seats in Georgia, which sadly we know will happen. Being a “maverick” is useless as a member of the minority, but as a member of the majority he has more leverage. Manchin is full of crap anyways. He’s another calculating politician who puts his finger up in the air, and ultimately does what he thinks politically will be good for him, and not his constituents.

Yeah, he likely won’t do anything until after Jan. 5. But I don’t understand why he hasn’t switched a long time ago.

I still remember the campaign ad he did about ObaMaoCare, literally shooting a printed out version of the bill with a rifle.

He stated rhat he wanted to repeal the billIIRC.

Did he do what he said he was gonna do? No.

Uh, right now the Senate is 50 Republicans and 48 Democrats, with the two Georgia seats to be decided January 5th. If the RATs take the two Georgia seats, the Senate will be 50-50 with the VP as tiebreaker.

If Manchin then switches to the Republicans, the Senate would be 51-49 Republican.

Now do you get it?

If both GOP senators lose in Georgia and Manchin becomes a Republican he won’t be in the minority. Republicans would be 51 - 49. The Turtle would give him any committee he wants.

If the Dems win both runoffs, the Senate is 50-50. If Manchin switched, it would be 51-49 R. He would be part of the majority party whether he switches or not.
