Not necessarily. For instance, there's nothing wrong with me advising people to buy a less expensive home, drop cable, go down a vehicle in order to reduce their tax liability.

Are you saying to voluntarily cut my income? I own my house. I have no meaningful debt. I live on a lot less than I earn.
All that has little to do with my income tax.
