Barron said there was no announcement that they were closing down for the night. However, per Channel 2 News: Rick Barron told county commissioners he didn’t know about the dismissal and brought back five scanners to work between 10:30 p.m. election night and 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Fox News reported: Barron said he sent most poll workers home, including those whose fatigue made them “counter-productive,” but a few remained and continued counting until around 1 a.m. even though the Republican poll watchers had left.

ACJ.com report: Barron said he sent almost all of his staff home because some were tired to the point of being “counter-productive.” And so GOP observers left because they thought counting was done for the night. But five county workers stayed to process more ballots until 1 a.m.

The point is Barron keeps changing the story and this is what makes the events start to unravel. If there was no intent to stop for the evening, then why did the independent election monitor leave and not return until some time between 12:42 and 12:52? Who was observing? Media and other independents apparently left at 11:15? If they say counting going on, why would they leave?
