No, it would be simpler to just put a chip in their hand or forehead that could be scanned and read electronically. No admission to the grocery store without a chip.

It’s not like this is a new idea. The plans were drawn up for this approach about 2000 years ago.

10 years ago Galveston had parking meters along the beach that could only accept payment by smartphone.

These days to get discounts/coupons you have to install some company’s app on your phone (email alone is not good enough anymore).

One long term goal is “cashless society” (you won’t have cash, it won’t be good at businesses). They’ve had wristband tickets (that also act as virtual wallets) at European concerts for several years now.

They will claim “membership is free” to shop in their “members only” store but you’ll have to comply with their rules or have your membership “revoked”.
