1 mRNA vaccine for VEEV has been in approved and in use for several years. Moderna has been testing the mRNA platform they've pioneered for years. The company itself was formed over a decade ago. Other pharmaceutical companies have been working on mRNA platforms as long or longer than Moderna.

That's the part of the virus that's been found to trigger the best, most reliable immune response.

Because they can't afford it and lack the environmental controls to properly store and distribute it.

So the only 2 soon approved vaccines are using a tech that has never been approved and for a family of virus we have never vaccinated against.
By all means you can go in front of me. I might hold back a bit and risk my 99.6 99.9 survival rate.
I had cancer. Stage 3+ DLBCL (won’t go into gene expressions because it’s mostly edge cases). Normal protocols said chemo + radiation for max 5 year progression free survival. Radiation showed/demonstrated 5 yeaR PFS but if the radiation was in the main artery’s around the heart showed 10 year survival went down when no sign of disease occurred at least 2+ Rounds prior to end of chemo (age based but 10 years eithe heart attacks or major bypass). If center chest mass showed no active/measurable disease @ round 4 of 8 would you blindly agree to full chest radiotherapy? Even if both oncologist say you should.?
BTW no doctor discussed the 5-10 year impacts because the look mostly at 5 PFS as metrics.
Anyway - long story short - medical experts play the short term odds. The metric time frame odds. Not the patient time frame odds. Just the truth.
