What you say sounds real good. But, when will they unleash the next virus? The covid vaccine won’t be worth diddly. The intention is to keep people behind masks, separated by distance, lonely, needy and depending on a tyrannical government to tell them what to do.
Perhaps they could make a vaccine for the common cold too.
We seem to be averaging about every 7 years or so. 2003 for SARS, MERS was 2012, and COVID-19 in 2019. I'd expect something in another 5-8 years. Hopefully we'll have better responses from governments that don't involve pointless shutdowns by then and hospitals will be better prepared ahead of time.

The "common cold" is a set of symptoms caused by any one of over 200 different viruses. There's no technical reason we couldn't make it, but for the amount of work going into it, nobody's going to pay $20,000 a year to avoid getting the common cold. But sure, we could do it.
