For any Freeper’s whoay not know —
For whatever it’s worth, the distance from Frankfurt to Joint Intel Center at Wiesbaden is about 15 miles, depending on where the points are calculated from.
As well, as there are across the US, and many foreign countries (*including across Germany), there are US Federal intel agency sites and facilities both on, and off bases, which are under both federal and joint jurisdictions, and include SCIF’s (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities)
These are designed to be utilized at all levels of security and clearances, and are regularly manned by uniformed DOD, civilian DOD, and cleared civilian contractors under contract to the DOD and Intel Community. In fact, these cleared civilian contractors, contracted to the various intel agencies, can make up over half of their personnel and sme’s (subject matter experts), and are often former service members, and even former direct agency civilians.
I am confident there are a number of Freeper’s in this category.
Additionally, as stated, these sites are also under US Federal intel community enforcement standards, but often adjacent to, or proxima to larger base installation’s or facilities, and are often visited by uniformed DOD security teams, and could be raided and seized in the event of a security “Incident”.
In fact, dependent on the level of “incident”, this would be protocol.
I have personally been in 2 such incidents CONUS (within the Continental US), where uniformed DOD security teams raided the OFF BASE structures/facilities of federal civilian intelligence contractor sites (with fully federally operational SCIF’s).
These were large corporate upscale buildings (sites) in large urban environments.
These type of sites are all over the US , EU, and around the world.
It is highly unlikely we will be given, or ever know the full details of such an OP near Wiesbaden, Germany.
However, that such an incident occurred is easy.
Informative post, thank you. I find it difficult to believe that five spec ops get killed and only one CIA agent. Pretty messy. Hope the good guys got what was required. Doesn’t sound like it though.
